Louisville Youth Give Back During Mayor’s “Give A Day” Program

On April 22 the Emanuel Project, along with Public Works and Vacant Properties helped sponsor an event at the Louisville Metro Detention Center for the Mayor’s Give A Day Program. 20 4′ X 8′ Boards were prepped and brought in for 20 detention youth to paint as part of “Blight Out Brighten Up Youth Edition”. These boards will be put up on the entrances to vacant buildings in West Louisville allowing these youth a chance to give back to the community.
We would like to thank our new friend C.J. Fletcher for coordinating the event with help from Sally, Sytisha, Detention Center Staff and 30 or so volunteers who showed up to help!
